On our way home yesterday, here is the conversation Claire and I had.

C: I can't hear you!
M: What?
C: I can't hear you!
M: Why can't you hear me?
C: I can't hear you!
M: Oh, well. (I realize she's just playing a game) I can't hear you either!
C: Can we see Daddy?
M: Can we see Daddy?
C: Look at the light!
M: Look at the light!
C: Car?
M: Car? (I start copying everything she says just to see what she'll do)
C: Can we turn right here? (towards Memaw and Papa's)
M: Can we turn right here?
C: please?
M: please?
C: Sure!
M: Sure!

It stuns me how quickly she figures puzzles/logic out. It didn't take her long at all to use the situation of me copying her to go the way she wanted. We did not go the way she wanted, but the fact that she figured out how to get me to say yes so quickly is pretty smart I think. Last night I went to dinner with a couple girlfriends and had a great fellowship time. It really made me think about the last weeks with Claire and how frustrated I've been and to just get over it. She's normal. She's who she is and she'll mature and not frustrate me so much in the future. I wish Justin could have evenings like I did and someday he will. Lord, help me to be patient and know that Your timing is the only timing that matters--not mine.
