TAKS Thursday

Today was an okay day at school. We had a mock TAKS(Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills) test for English/Language Arts. They shut the school down for everyone to take this test which is a practice for March when the real test happens. I had 25 9th graders in one room from 7:30 to 2:55. Let's just say it was a long day. The students even had lunch delivered to them. However, they were fairly well behaved for such a situation. After school, I met Justin and Claire at the park and then we went to Memaw and Papa's house to visit. Uncle Matt came over and we watched the first half of the BCS National Championship game before heading home for bed. Claire had a great day and we were really happy to have family time together. We are starting to plan our vacation for this summer but really don't have any good ideas on where to go. Any suggestions?

Since you are posting so often I will try to comment often. =)

Maybe you guys could go skiing? I'm not sure what the age is for first time skiers but wouldn't that be an experience! You could even tie it in to your exercise goals.

Another idea, which would probably be cheaper, is that there is a hotel in Grapevine (near Dallas) that has an indoor water park. That might be kinda cool. You wouldn't really even need to leave the hotel to be entertained. It is also next to the Gaylord Texan which is a cool hotel to walk around in too.
